What is the VET Practitioner CPD program?
The VET Practitioner CPD program has been developed to support Vocational Trainers and Assessors who offer qualifications to the Disability Sector to continue their learning.
In partnership with the Government of South Australia, the program has been co-designed by the disability and training sectors along with consumers to maximise the learning experience in a contemporary disability landscape.
All professional development sessions have been aligned with Certificate III Individual Support (Disability) units of competency. As individual sessions they are also suitable for those learning or teaching within the Allied Health, Nursing and Disability sectors.

Membership lasts the full financial year and for only $160 includes the following:- Hear from subject matter experts
- Gain insight into what it means for the modern-day disability support worker
- Access to current research and materials for future use
- Opportunity to network with industry and current NDIS participants
- 8 professional development sessions conducted by industry leaders (held in Adelaide or live-streamed for your convenience)
- FREE National Disability Practitioners (NDP) membership including access to hundreds of learning materials including webinars, current research and data
- Full administration assistance for you to participate and guide you through the year including your certificate of completion once you've gathered your points
- You can then use your CPD Certificate as part of your ASQA evidence of currency

Eligibility
The CPD pilot program will be available to all South Australian based VET practitioners in public and private training organisations, teachers of VET in schools, and to Trainers and Assessors currently working within a Disability Service Provider. The online components of the program may also be available to VET practitioners/NDP members operating interstate.
Program criteria
1. VET practitioners enrolled in the CPD program must accrue 16 points of professional development over the course of the program. Generally, one hour of learning or development is equivalent to one CPD point.
2. Learning activities may consist of any combination of the following activity categories (members must participate in at least two of the three categories of learning):
- Professional activities, including NDS led professional development sessions. e.g. CPD Webinars, Virtual Conferences, face-to-face conferences provided by NDS/NDP or other professional association or training body; industry specific reading materials; disability-related presentations or published works.
- Independent learning e.g. Online learning, webinars, employer training and workshops etc.
- Industry placement (to commence 2020)
