Using the NDIS Portal
The myplace Provider Portal is the means for registered NDIS providers to manage their products and services for participants. From 1 July 2016, all providers need to undertake a new authentication process called Provider Digital Access (PRODA) which is managed by the Department of Human Services (this replaced the AUSkey).

Summary
Step one: Create a PRODA account
To set up on the NDIS provider portal, you need to firstly create a PRODA Account. PRODA (Provider Digital Access) is an online authentication system used to enable individuals to securely access multiple government online services including the NDIS.
Step two: Set up on the myplace portal
After you have successfully created a PRODA account, you can now set up on NDIS myplace provider portal.
Note: Setting up on the myplace portal does not mean you become an NDIS provider. You still need to go through the provider registration process to become a registered provider and to use the full functions on the myplace portal. Without provider registration, you cannot make any service bookings or payment requests from the NDIS on the portal.
Step three: Register as an NDIS provider
After successfully setting up on the myplace portal, you will be able to begin the process of registering as an NDIS provider on the portal.
Key Features of the Provider Portal
Registration Details
This function allows participants to view and edit registration details. It is important to keep these up-to-date so participants can easily engage your services.
Service Booking
Providers will be able to create, modify and confirm Service Bookings with participants. Providers will not be able to make Payment Requests until they have a Service Booking in place with the participant.
Payment Request
The Payment Request function will allow providers to submit Payment Requests to the NDIS. A Payment Request, once submitted and approved, will be paid to the provider's nominated bank account.
Further information
Further information on using the provider portal can be accessed by looking through the Provider Toolkit website. The Provider Toolkit is an online platform developed by the NDIA to assist providers with many different aspects involved with providing services to NDIS participants. The Provider Toolkit website has resources on general provider portal use as well as more in-depth guides to specific functions, information on submitting Payment Requests and bulk upload payment requests, provider registration and many more topics.
