NDP has secured an exclsuive discount for members to participate in Premium Health's nationally accredited first aid workshop. The workshop has a disability focus and is not generally available to the public. HLTAID003 Provide first aid

This first aid course unit develops the knowledge and skills to provide first aid and care, including CPR to an ill and/or injured person, to coordinate first aid until the arrival of medical assistance such as an ambulance and effectively communicate and document the incident.

Some topics covered include:

• First aider responsibilities (home and workplace)
• Bleeding and shock
• Heart and respiratory conditions
• Altered conscious states (seizures, fainting, head injuries)
• Anaphylaxis
• Bones, soft tissue and skin conditions
• OHS/WHS legislation (Act and Codes of Practice)
