FREE: Supported Decision Making Workshops for the Disability Sector
The Supported Decision Making Workshops are FREE to individuals and organisations who wish to get a better understanding of what Support for Decision Making is, how to practice it, the legal framework it operates under and how it relates to the NSW Public Guardian. Participants will be provided with a simple framework in which to hang their practice off and gain a greater understanding of when a substitute decision maker is required.
Format
This interactive workshop will run over one full day and is suitable for front line staff and management.
Course Objectives
You will learn how to:
- Build the ability of people with disability to make their own decisions
- Apply effective steps for providing support for decision making
- Debate dilemmas and tensions, as well as strategies to address these
- Discuss upcoming law reform in the Guardianship sector

Individuals and organisations are encouraged to express their interest for 2019.

Cost
FREE for Individuals. Free In-House Organisational training will be considered upon request.
